The National Ecology and Environment Foundation (NEEF) is a not-for-profit, non- government organisation registered as a public trust with its main office at Mumbai and Centres in other parts of the globe. NEEF is Internationally Recognised by International Accreditation & Recognition Council, Australia. It has Collaborative Agreements (for PG Degree, Diploma and Certificate Courses) with SMWC and IEG, USA, Australian Correspondence School, Publication Agreement with Ecomed, Germany, and represents Indian Chapter of EEIU-Germany. The Foundation has been promoted by well known experts in the fields of engineering, science, economics and policy. Its Advisory Board includes outstanding academcians, researchers and policy makers, having recognition at national and international levels in their areas of expertise. NEEF also has a wide network of its affiliates such as Collaborating Centre Head (Incharge), Consultants, Life-Members, Volunteers, etc. The Foundation provides a neutral forum, where all viewpoints
of the environmental management issues i.e. technical,
scientific, economic, social, and political can be addressed. The
Foundation serves its members and public by promoting environmental responsibility
and providing technical and managerial leadership in the areas of Air, Water,
Solid Waste, Noise Pollution and related local environmental problems. The
foundation also contributes to the issues of global importance such as
Climate Change, Ozone Depletion, Biological Diversity, International Waters,
and Trade and Environment. OBJECTIVES The major objectives of NEEF are: o To inculcate willingness and awareness for Ecological and Environmental issues through Education and Training. o To promote and conduct Inter-disciplinary Research on Environment and Development. o To provide Consultancy to private and public sector organizations in their efforts for protecting the environment and an input to Policy-making. o To promote Awareness among various stakeholders of Environment at local, national and international levels with the help of Media.
NEEF's activities include Environmental Education, Research, Media, Consultancy and Awareness programs.Thus, it is an umbrella organization dealing with environment in its entirety. Through its structure, programs and activities, the Foundation
integrates these areas to produce opportunities for technical exchange.
